Jazz to Participate in ‘Be Well Utah’ Health Fair

SALT LAKE CITY (August 12, 2015) – The Utah Jazz will join University of Utah Health Care, the official healthcare partner of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment and the Jazz, for the 7th annual Be Well Utah – A Family Health Week on Aug. 15-22.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, the Jazz will participate in the culmination of health week at the family health fair. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium on the University of Utah campus. The Jazz will have a variety of appearances throughout the afternoon, including Jazz guard Trey Burke, assistant coach Johnnie Bryant and the America First Jazz Dancers. 

The schedule of Jazz appearances is as follows:

10 a.m. – 2 p .m. – Johnnie Bryant to participate in Fit Clinics

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Jazz Bear to help with health screenings, on-field activities and more

11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  – Jazz guard Trey Burke to take photos with attendees

Noon – 2 p.m. – America First Jazz Dancers to take part in Zumba fitness and other dancing activities

Miller Sports & Entertainment. “The Jazz and all our sport properties are strong advocates of health and wellness and hope to promote greater awareness for the importance of being active, eating well and living a healthy lifestyle.”

The health fair is the final event for the Be Well Utah: A Family Health Week and will include complimentary screenings for glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol and more. There will also be family friendly healthy activities, healthy cooking demonstrations, on-field activities and a bike rodeo with bike safety course.
