Jazz Try to Extend Streak in Minnesota

The Utah Jazz will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on the Timberwolves in Minnesota tonight.

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m., and you can watch the game on ROOT SPORTS (XFINITY 693, DirecTV 683-1, DISH 444, Hopper 412-32).

The Timberwolves (5-11) are one of the most exciting up-and-coming teams in the NBA, thanks in large part to former No. 1 overall picks Andrew Wiggins (2014) and Karl-Anthony Towns (2015). Both Wiggins and Towns were named Rookie of the Year, and they’re both averaging 20+ points per game this season.

Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng and Zach LaVine round out one of the NBA’s youngest lineups (average age: 23), while 2016 No. 5 overall pick Kris Dunn, along with Shabazz Muhammad and second-year guard Tyus Jones, are Minnesota’s key reserves.

Former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is in his first year as Minnesota’s head coach.

The Jazz (9-8) have followed up a recent four-game losing streak with two straight wins—which happened to coincide with George Hill’s return to the lineup. Hill missed eight games with a sprained thumb, and the Jazz went 3-5 in his absence.

Hill (20.9 ppg) and Gordon Hayward (20.3 ppg) lead Utah in scoring, and the Jazz are 3-0 in games when the two are both in the lineup.

Rudy Gobert is averaging a double-double (10.5 ppg, 10.6 rpg) and ranks third in the NBA with 2.5 blocks per game.

Derrick Favors (knee) and Alec Burks (ankle) remain out for the Jazz.
