PK’s NBA Top 15 for week of March 19

PK
  1. Chicago - Is this something to be concerned about? Injuries have forced Derrick Rose to miss 12 games this season. Last week: 2.
  2. Miami - The second two-game losing streak of the month is enough to get bumped from the top spot, especially after losing to the Chicago Bulls without an injured Derrick Rose. Last week: 1.
  3. San Antonio - The disappointing tenure of Richard Jefferson ended with a trade to Golden State? But is Stephen Jackson worth the trouble? There is a reason Jackson has played for eight teams, including twice for three teams. Last week: 4.
  4. Oklahoma City - The luster has come off a bit. In a four-day span last week, the Thunder lost at home to Houston and San Antonio. Last week: 3.
  5. Orlando - Maybe now that Dwight Howard has committed to stay, at least for the next year, the Magic can find their identity. Last week: 6.
  6. Lakers - The close ones had been going their way. Before losing by four points at home to the Jazz, the Lakers had won five games by no more than six points, including two in overtime. Last week: 7.
  7. Memphis - Things may be about to change. The Grizzlies are on the road in nine of the next 11 games. Last week: 5
  8. Atlanta - After losing four out of five games, the Hawks have won two straight. But it’s hard to get excited when the opponents are Cleveland and Washington. Last week: 9.
  9. Dallas - Maybe the old-timers are getting hot for the stretch run. After losing three consecutive games, the Mavericks have won three straight. Last week: 13.
  10. Clippers - The Clippers are hoping recently acquired Nick Young is the answer to offset Chauncey Billups’ season-ending injury. Last week: 10.
  11. Denver - With Nene traded to Washington, it opened more playing time for Kenneth Faried. The rookie responded with 18 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Boston. Last week: 11.
  12. Philadelphia - The crazy ride continues. After losing two consecutive games and then losing three straight, the Sixers are on another three-game losing streak. Last week: 8.
  13. Boston - The Celtics have gone 2-3 on an eight-game road trip, with stops left against Atlanta, Milwaukee and Philadelphia. Last week: 14.
  14. Indiana - The funky schedule had the Pacers playing New York in a home-and-home on consecutive nights last week. And the results were the same as the Knicks won both games. Last week: 12.
  15. Houston - Having gone 3-7 this month, the Rockets are in serious jeopardy of falling out of the most prestigious Top 15 Power Poll. Last week: 15.
