Jazz Ready to Host Unbeaten Warriors

The Utah Jazz will continue their four-game homestand when they host the undefeated Golden State Warriors tonight at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.

The Warriors are off to a 18-0 start—the best start in NBA history—and they’re still chasing the all-time record of 33 straight wins.

Golden State’s trio of reigning league MVP Stephen Curry, sharpshooter Klay Thompson and do-everything forward Draymond Green—who leads the team in rebounds and assists—fuels the highest-scoring offense the NBA has seen in more than 20 years. The Warriors are averaging 115.8 points per game and outscoring their opponents by an average of 16 points each time they take the floor.

Curry leads the NBA in scoring at 31.9 points per game. Curry basically doesn’t miss—he’s shooting 51.5 percent from the field, 44.3 percent from 3-point range, and 93.9 percent from the free-throw line. And he’s averaging 5.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 2.6 steals and 5.0 3-pointers per game.

Green has been the NBA’s foremost stat stuffer this season with averages of 12.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.7 blocks and 1.6 3-pointers per game, while Thompson averages 16.1 points and 2.4 threes per game.

Harrison Barnes usually starts at small forward, though he’ll miss tonight’s game with an ankle injury, while Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli share time at center.

The Jazz have won two straight games—over the Clippers on the road and the Pelicans at home—and sit with a record of 8-7.  As a team, the Jazz boast the NBA’s third-best scoring defense (93.2 points per game).

The game will be broadcast on ROOT SPORTS (Xfinity—693, DirecTV—683.1, Dish—447, Hopper—412-35). TV coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. MT. You can also listen to the game on the Utah Jazz mobile app, which is available for iPhone and Android.*
