November 16, 2016 – The Charlotte Hornets today announced that the first 10,000 fans in attendance for the team’s game against the New York Knicks on Saturday, Nov. 26, will receive a T-shirt featuring Tykes images of all 15 players on the roster.
The players are depicted in the team’s black Buzz City uniforms, which they will be wearing on the court that night. Many of them are in poses fans will recognize from the court, including Spencer Hawes and Marvin Williams celebrating three-point field goals and Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist reacting to big plays.
Tykes is a Charlotte-based graphic design company that makes cartoon-style avatars that demonstrate the impact of sports culture and the growing demand to visually express what is relevant and current. The company creates innovative illustrations that allow the consumer to get a detailed view of the stories being told. Tykes distributes many of its images via its social media platforms, including @MyTyke on Instagram, @Tykeland on Twitter and @Tykeland on Facebook.
Several additional giveaways for the 2016-17 season are still to be announced. The Hornets previously revealed plans to distribute Starting Lineup figurines of Nicolas Batum, Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to the first 7,500 fans in attendance on Dec. 23, Feb. 11 and March 11, respectively.
