Grant, Hunter Highlight Hornets 3rd Draft Workout

In preparation for the 2015 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets held their third draft workout on June 8 with guards Jerian Grant (Notre Dame), R.J. Hunter (Georgia State), Andrew Harrison (Kentucky) and Jordan Downing (Presbyterian College), and forwards Branden Dawson (Michigan State) and Larry Nance Jr. (Wyoming) in to showcase their skills in front of the Hornets basketball operations staff.

Grant earned John R. Wooden All-America Team, Associated Press All-America First Team, USBWA All-America First Team, NABC All-America First Team, Sporting News All-America Second Team, ACC Tournament MVP, ACC All-Tournament First Team, unanimous First Team All-ACC, ACC All-Defensive Team (coaches), ACC Co-Player of the Week (Dec. 8), ACC Player of the Week (Jan. 26) and Naismith Semifinalist after averaging 16.5 points, 6.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 2014-15.

Hunter averaged a career-high 19.7 points, scoring a school-record 688 points, while pulling down 4.7 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per contest. He was named AP All-America honorable mention two years in a row, earned Sun Belt Player-of-the-Year and All-Sun Belt First-Team honors along with Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors, NABC All-District 24 First-Team honors Finalist for Lou Henson Award given to the top mid-major player in the country, Sun Belt Player-of-the-Year and All-Sun Belt First-Team honors along with Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors.

Harrison started all 39 games for the Wildcats in 2015 and became UK's all-time leader in assists through the first two years of his career after registering a team-high 139 assists as a sophomore. He averaged 9.3 points, 3.6 assists and 2.2 rebounds and scored in double figures in 17 games as a sophomore, including five of his last seven games played.

Downing played and started in 31 games for Presbyterian College in 2014-15 and averaged 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Downing earned All-Conference honors, was named 2014 Big South All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and ranked first in school’s Division I career record book for most three-pointers, finishing with 214.

Dawson earned Second-Team All-Big Team, USBWA All-District V and NABC All-District 7 honoree, Co-recipient of MSU’s Best Defensive Player Award, Big Ten All-Tournament Team honoree, and Big Ten All-Defensive Team honoree after putting up 11.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 2014-15. He also averaged 9.1 rebounds overall and 9.8 in conference games, becoming the first player 6-foot-6 or shorter to lead the Big Ten in rebounding overall since 1991 and in Big Ten action since 1988.

Nance averaged 16.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals and recorded seven double-doubles during the season, including 25 games in double-figure points and seven games with double-figure rebounds. He was named the MW's Preseason Player of the Year, to the All-MW First Team, All-Defensive Team and MW co-Defensive Player of the Year during the regular season and to the MW's All-Tournament team, and was also on the NABC's All-District 17 First Team.
