MIAMI, January 28 – The NBA announced tonight that HEAT forward Chris Bosh was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star Team in a vote by the NBA head coaches. This marks his 11th time being selected as an NBA All-Star. Bosh will join teammate Dwyane Wade on the All-Star team, marking the sixth consecutive season they have been named All-Star’s. That ties the fourth-longest streak a pair of teammates have been selected to the All-Star team in NBA history, joining Magic Johnson and James Worthy who also accomplished the feat six-straight times from 1986-91. The 65th NBA All-Star Game, which will air live on TNT and reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages, will be played at the Air Canada Centre on Sunday, February 14.
In his previous nine All-Star appearances (missed 2009 due to injury), Bosh has averaged 10.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.00 steals and 19.4 minutes while shooting 52.4 percent from the field. He also connected on a career-high nine-straight trey’s over a two-game span on December 28 and December 29, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from downtown vs. Brooklyn on December 28 to become just the 12th player in HEAT franchise history to be perfect from beyond the arc with at least five attempts during a single game. He scored 31 points at Indiana on January 4th, improving Miami’s record to 21-1 when he scores at least 30 points. He grabbed his 7,500th career rebound at Golden State on January 11th and scored his 17,000th career point on January 22nd at Toronto.
