JaMychal Green drilled a right corner three to give the Grizzlies at 13-point advantage and the team's largest lead of the night, 21-8 with 5:01 left in the first quarter.
Memphis shot 41.3% from the field and 17-44 (38.6%) from beyond the arc. Houston shot 42.6% from the field and had 24 turnovers.
The preseason records for both Memphis and Houston stands at 4-1.
