Grizzlies guard Mike Conley to donate to the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center of Memphis

MEMPHIS, April 19, 2012 – Grizzlies guard Mike Conley is doing his part to support Sickle Cell patients in need, as he will donate $100 per point he scores against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, April 21 to the construction of The Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center of Memphis.

Not only will Conley be making his personal donation, but the Memphis Grizzlies will also match his $100 per point to help raise funds for the Sickle Cell Center.

Through various donations and with a collaborative effort by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and other healthcare organizations throughout the community, Memphis can be home to The Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center.  The Sickle Cell Center’s mission will include improving care and enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families.  For more information on sickle cell disease or how to make a donation, visit www.sicklecellmemphis.org.
