Game Rewind: Pacers 98, Wizards 111

The Pacers have now dropped six in a row as they head into the All-Star break, after they were defeated by the Washington Wizards in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 111-98.

"Tonight's loss looked a little flat," Pacers head coach Nate McMillan said. "Maybe we're a little fatigued."

In the early going the Wizards' offense was firing on all cylinders. The visitors made four from long range, including three from Otto Porter Jr. to jump out to a 14-4 lead with 7:38 left in the opening period.

Indiana fought back throughout the quarter to eventually cut the lead to four with just seconds remaining, but Porter Jr. struck again, and his buzzer-beating triple gave the Wizards a 34-27 advantage heading into the second quarter.

In the second, the Pacers struck first, cutting the deficit to just two, 37-35, forcing a timeout with 9:23 remaining. But over the next six minutes, Washington outscored Indiana 20-7 to build a 57-42 lead with 3:08 to play in the first half.

Over the final three minutes, Indiana was able to make a little headway into Washington's lead to trail by 10, 62-52, heading into the locker room.

In the third, every time Indiana would make a push, Washington responded. The Pacers got within five early in the quarter, and Washington answered with five straight to push the lead back to 10.

With 5:38 to go in the period, a Glenn Robinson III three-point play got Indiana within eight, but by the 3:26 mark, Washington led by 13, 82-69. When the third was said and done, Washington was still ahead by 13, 90-77.

In the fourth, Indiana kept getting close, but couldn't quite break through. After cutting the lead to seven with 6:41 remaining, the Wizards answered with a Bradley Beal 3-pointer and John Wall jump shot to push the advantage back to 12.

The Pacers got within eight with 5:13 to play, but once again Wall was up to the task, nailing a jumper to give the visitors a 104-94 lead with 3:58 left.

Indiana wouldn't threaten Washington the rest of the way en route to its sixth straight defeat.

"We're just not playing well," Pacers point guard Jeff Teague said of the team's recent struggles. "Everybody needs to take a step back from basketball, get back, focus and come back with a new sense of urgency."

For Indiana, Myles Turner finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Paul George added 17 points and seven boards.

Washington was led by 25 points from Porter Jr. Wall had a double-double, compiling 20 points and 12 assists.

Indiana's bench outscored Washington's 39-14.

Washington's Otto Porter Jr. scored 25 points for the second time in five games. His season average is 14.4 ppg.

John Wall recorded his 35th double-double of the season.

The Wizards were red hot from beyond the arc, going 15-of-29 (51.9 percent) from deep.
