1 / 22The Pacers and Hawks have faced each other four times in the playoffs, three of those times in consecutive years: 1994, ’95, and ’96. In the 1994 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, the Pacers defeated the Hawks, 4-2. The next year, the two teams faced each other again, this time in the First Round with the five-game First Round series format still in place. The Pacers swept the series, 3-0. Both years saw the Pacers go on to make the Eastern Conference Finals. In 1996, the Hawks defeated the Pacers 3-2 in the First Round. That series saw an injured Reggie Miller return in the game five to score 29 points, but the Pacers lost. The first time the Pacers and Hawks played was back in 1987, which the Hawks won 3-1. The Pacers’ 1986-87 NBA Rookie of the Year, Chuck Person, averaged 27 points per game.
