Kokomo, IN (Nov. 3, 2011) – Pacers TV analyst and VP Quinn Buckner was the headline speaker on Nov. 3, 2011 at the record-breaking 97th annual Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce awards dinner at the Kokomo Country Club. Over 370 were on hand to hear the basketball legend’s remarks – much more than the previous record crowd of 250.
“Quinn Buckner represents what is great about the state of Indiana and the sport of basketball,” said Greater Kokomo President/CEO Jeb Conrad. “We have a lot of IU fans up here and ALL of us are Pacers fans!”
In addition to Buckner’s presentation, the evening included the Kokomo C of C presenting local business awards to leading Kokomo area partners. Over 50 nominations from the community were submitted and 15 awards were presented. Among the dignitaries on hand in addition to Conrad were Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight; Stephen Daily, Chancellor, Ivy Tech Community College; and Tom Schumann of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce.
