Chris Copeland Headlines Knox Indy Pro-Am Opening Night

By Collin O’Connor

As the Knox Indy Pro-Am began its sixth annual season on Saturday night, Pacers forward Chris Copeland made headlines with his play in the second half of the final game of the night.

He checked into the game just after halftime and immediately made his presence felt with a quick three. From there, he lived up to the expectations of being the lone NBA player in the game and gave the hometown fans a show.

Bringing his team all the way back from a 17-point deficit, Copeland dropped in 19 points in 20 second half minutes to force overtime.

Overtime was much of the same as well as Copeland got things started with a strong move to finish with a foul.

From there, his team went on a run to open up the game and cap off an impressive come-from-behind victory. The Pacers' sharpshooter finished with 24 points in just 23 total minutes of playing time as he was able to take over in the second half of an exciting opener for the league.

After a night that brought forth two competitive games and one overtime finish, the Knox Indy Pro-Am still has several weeks to go to bring big names and exciting games to downtown Indianapolis.

Next week, there will again be two games in The Jungle at IUPUI as Chicago's team will be facing off with Indianapolis.
