Artest Honored by NBA

New York, Nov. 18, 2002 - Indiana’s Ron Artest and Seattle’s Rashard Lewis today were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, November 11 through Sunday, November 17.

Artest averaged 20.3 points on .639 shooting (23-36 FGA) with 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.00 blocks and 1.67 steals as the Pacers went 3-0 this past week, stretched their winning streak to seven games and now have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 8-1.

Lewis, who scored a career-high 37 points in a 101-95 win at Washington last week, helped lead the Sonics to a 3-0 week and first-place in the Pacific Division averaging 23.0 points on .690 shooting (29-42 FGA) with 8.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.00 steals.
