Roy Hibbert Seeking Loud and Crazy Fans for Season 2 of Area 55

June 1, 2011

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert has purchased 55 season tickets that he will give away to 55 loud and crazy fans for Season 2 of Area 55.

Area 55 made its debut during the 2010-11 Pacers season, and was comprised of loud, crazy, energetic, die-hard Pacers fans, Roy Hibbert fans, fans who dressed the part, fans who lead chants during the game and fans that weren’t afraid to be seen on the video board. Hibbert is bringing back the area for the 2011-12 Pacers season and hopes to make it even better than before.

“Season 1 of Area 55 exceeded my expectations,” said Hibbert. “These fans were loud, committed and highly entertaining throughout the season and I can’t wait to see what Season 2 brings.”

As a member of Area 55, fans will receive one season ticket in the section located in the Krieg DeVault Club Level, access to Hibbert’s private workouts, a postgame meet and greet with Hibbert, autograph sessions and other special events.

Fans will be selected by Hibbert himself through a special audition process starting today. Fans can audition for their spot in Area 55 by either going to Pacers.com/area55 and uploading a video (not to exceed thirty seconds) on why they “deserve a seat in Area 55” or by auditioning in person Saturday, June 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Nora Kroger at 1365 E. 86th Street in Indianapolis. At the live auditions on the 11th, fans can spin the prize wheel at the Pacers Fan Van, see the special celebrity judges or register to win an HDTV. Online applications must be submitted by June 14.

Hibbert will select the top fans for a special final audition on June 21 at Conseco Fieldhouse. A panel of judges, including Hibbert, will decide who are the 55 most energetic, loud and dedicated fans that will earn a spot in Area 55 for the 2011-12 season. The participants for Season 2 will be announced at the 2011 Pacers Draft Party on June 23 at Conseco Fieldhouse.

During the audition process, fans can connect with Roy by friending him on Facebook and Twitter. All social sites can be found at the Area 55 home page on Pacers.com.
