Luis Montero, a 6-7 guard from the Dominican Republic, helped guide Westchester CC to an NJCAA D1 National Tournament appearance in 2013-14 as a freshman. He returned to Westchester this year, but their season was canceled due to transcript issues for several of last season’s sophomores who transferred to D1 schools. Montero didn’t play in any games this season, which is why he would have been able to play as a sophomore during the 2015-16 season. He averaged 15.6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists last season.
Montero enrolled in classes at South Plains College and committed to the University of South Florida for the 2015-16 season before electing to enter his name into the 2015 NBA Draft.
