Injury Report: Young Has Small Kneecap Fracture

Nick Young has a small fracture of his left kneecap, a CT scan revealed on Wednesday. Young will make a complete recovery, as it is expected that the fracture will heal itself with rest.

The Los Angeles native has missed each of the Lakers’ last 11 games due to the injury. As has been the norm since he last played on Feb. 22 against Boston, Young will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis.

Young was in attendance at Wednesday’s practice, but did not participate.

“He was able to come out and sign some autographs because we had an autograph session today,” head coach Byron Scott said. “And then he went back in and got treatment.”

Young, whose new hairstyle was the talk of practice, has missed 24 games due to injury this season. As a team, the Lakers have lost 248 games to injury, including season-enders to Steve Nash, Julius Randle, Kobe Bryant, Ronnie Price and the since-waived Xavier Henry.
