Lakers Draft Workouts: June 9, 2017

Another round of workouts took place at Lakers headquarters on Friday, as six more college prospects put their skills to the test for L.A.'s front office.

Damyean Dotson | SG | Houston | 6’5 | 210 | Sr.
A First Team All-AAC selection, Dotson led his conference in 3-point percentage (44.1), while ranking fifth in scoring (17.4) and 10th in rebounds (6.9). The Cougars' offense hit a different level with him on the floor, as he placed ninth in the entire NCAA in offensive rating (132.1).

P.J. Dozier | SG | South Carolina | 6’6 | 205 | So.
Dozier was a steadying presence during the Gamecocks' run to the Final Four, as he was named a member of the East Regional All-Tournament Team. At the next level, he looks to put his 7-foot wingspan and knack for steals to good use.

Jonathan Motley | PF/C | Baylor | 6’10 | 230 | Jr.
An athletic specimen, Motley led the Big 12 in rebounding (9.9) on his way to winning the Karl Malone Award for the nation's top power forward. Also named a Second Team All-American, Motley hauled in the eighth-most offensive boards (126) in the NCAA.

"[The workout] was good," Motley said. "I attacked the rim well, got to my spots, made some shots."

Semi Ojeleye | SF/PF | SMU | 6’8 | 230 | Jr.
After three years as a reserve at Duke, Ojeleye made the most of his decision to transfer to SMU, winning AAC Player of the Year honors by scoring the conference's third-most points (18.9) on its second-best field goal percentage (48.8). He also led his league in made free throws (172) and piled up the nation's second-most win shares (7.7).

"I'm versatile," Ojeleye said. "Whatever [a team] needs me to do, I'll do. I'm not a guy that needs shots or needs the offense to run through him. I feel like if I play defense and am out there to help the team try to win, then I'm fine with that."

L.J. Rose | PG | BYU | 6’3 | 200 | Sr.
Four years ago at Houston, Rose led the AAC in assists (5.5) as a freshman. Last season he maintained similar production at BYU, averaging 5.5 points and 4.7 assists. Rose has some unique Lakers ties, as his father, Lynden, was drafted by the purple and gold in 1982, though he never played for L.A.

Sindarius Thornwell | SG | South Carolina | 6’5 | 211 | Sr.
The key to South Carolina's Final Four run, Thornwell led the SEC in both scoring (21.4) and steals (2.1) on his way to being named the conference's Player of the Year. While he also hit the NCAA's third-most free throws (215), Thornwell saved plenty of energy for the other end, earning two SEC All-Defensive Team selections.

"I'm older, so I feel like I can come in and compete at a high level being already strong," Thornwell said. "[I bring] some things that 18-year-olds can't bring. .... They haven't really had those four years to understand guarding is a big thing."
