2017 Draft Profile: Zach Collins

Zach Collins jumped onto the scene during Gonzaga’s run to the national title game, eventually earning himself a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. Collins captured this honor by swatting 3.0 shots per game, which spoke to his unique defensive abilities.

Collins is certainly capable of playing the vertical game and using his 7-foot frame to reject attempts, but he is also mobile enough to check perimeter players and help out in pick-and-rolls. On the other end, the Las Vegas native was hyper efficient near the rim and would occasionally step out to sink 10-of-21 from 3-point range. This combination of inside and outside landed him with the NCAA’s fourth-best true shooting percentage (70.3).
