Lakers Draft Workouts: May 23, 2017

The Lakers continued their predraft workouts with another batch of prospects on Tuesday. This session included a trio of scoring wings, two glass-dominating bigs and a defensive-minded guard.

Kadeem Allen | G | Arizona | 6’3 | 205 | Sr.
Allen made his name on the defensive side of the ball, averaging the Pac-12's fifth-most steals (1.6) on his way to the conference's All-Defensive Team. On the other end of the floor, the Second Team All-Pac-12 selection averaged 9.8 points and 3.0 assists while hitting 42.7 percent of his 3-point attempts (32-of-75).

"I feel like defense is my strongest point," Allen said. "That's what got me here. That's what got me at Arizona. I'm not gonna change that for anything."

Jamel Artis | SF | Pittsburgh | 6’7 | 215 | Sr.
Versatility was Artis' game, as he placed seventh in the ACC in scoring (18.2) while also averaging 3.3 assists as Pitt's point forward. An All-ACC honorable mention, he snagged 4.9 rebounds per contest while stepping out to hit 2.3 triples.

Sidy Djitte | C | Clemson | 6’10 | 240 | Sr.
Few players crashed the glass like Djitte, who led the entire NCAA in offensive rebound percentage by grabbing 17.5 percent of available boards. His 7-foot-3 wingspan helped him secure 3.6 offensive rebounds per game — 12th in the country — while he also put up 6.5 points on a 52.9 percent clip.

J.J. Frazier | PG | Georgia | | 5’10 | 155 | Sr.
Despite his size, Frazier dominated the competition by ranking third in the SEC in scoring (18.8), sixth in assists (4.1) and third in steals (1.9). A first team all-conference selection, he shouldered the load for the Bulldogs by leading the SEC in minutes played (34.6).

"When you're undersized, like I am, you have to consistently prove yourself," Frazier said. "That's just another thing I took in stride and took pride in trying to prove."

Josh Hawkinson | PF | Washington State | | 6’10 | 230 | Sr.
Pac-12 big men are surely relieved that Hawkinson has moved on considering that he led the conference in rebounds in 2015 (10.8) and 2016 (11.1) before dipping to second this year (10.2). He also led the entire NCAA in total defensive rebounds for three straight seasons. As for the rest of his game, Hawkinson averaged 10.2 points while knocking down 40.6 percent of his 3-pointers.

L.J. Peak | SG | Georgetown | 6’5 | 215 | Jr.
Peak was a man of offensive efficiency, scoring the Big East's seventh-most points (16.2) on a 48.0 field goal percentage. He also hit the conference's second-most free throws (152 total) and averaged its fifth-most assists (3.5).

"I don't want to miss out on working out in front of somebody," said Peak, who is dealing with a groin injury. "So you gotta push through it till the [predraft] time is over."
