2017 Exit Interviews: Thomas Robinson

Thomas Robinson earned a spot on the team after an excellent training camp and stayed on the team throughout the whole season.

The fifth-year forward appeared in 48 games (one start), averaging 5.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists, shooting 53.6 percent from the field – the best mark of his career.

The Kansas alum saved his best for last, including a 16-point performance against the Clippers, becoming a key component of the team’s season-high five game winning streak in April.

Below is a summary of his exit interview with assembled media on Thursday:

-Robinson admitted to being nervous but was relieved when Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka complimented him on the things he improved this season and how he handled himself. Johnson pointed out “the small things of the game that I missed early on in my career and the things I need to work on this summer”.

-T-Rob claimed he’s committed to the mental part of the game, and said he will pick the brain of teammates like Luol Deng and Metta World Peace.

-“I’m always gonna be that player. I wanna be a star in my role”. Robinson said he understands that the best way to be successful is to do what’s necessary to help his teammates and the team.
