2017 Exit Interviews: Corey Brewer

Corey Brewer was acquired from the Houston Rockets, along with a 2017 Draft first round pick, at the trade deadline in a deal than sent guard Lou Williams to Texas.

The 10-year veteran ended up playing 24 games with the purple and gold, averaging 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and a steal in 14.9 minutes per game.

Brewer shot 43.8 percent from the field, and along the way became the NBA’s current iron man, having played in 277 consecutive games.

Below is a summary of his exit interview:

-Brewer was complimented by Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson on his style of play and demeanor since he joined the team: “Played hard, helped the young guys, helped to be a leader”.

-The veteran claimed to be impressed by the Lakers young core: “They’re good, they’re just young and they’re learning the game. It’s gonna be a big summer to make the jump”.

-Brewer on the attitude around the organization: “They wanna be good. Everybody’s tired of losing”.

-On his iron man streak: “Means I take care of myself. I wanna play basketball everyday, it’s hard to not be on the court”.
