Nance Shut Down Until After All-Star Break

Hampered by a sore right knee, Larry Nance Jr. will be sidelined until after the All-Star Break.

Nance's knee has caused him to miss four of the Lakers' last seven games. They have five more until the break, and won't play again after that until a Feb. 19 meeting with San Antonio.

“It might take 15 or 16 days, or it might take three weeks — I don’t know,” head coach Byron Scott said at Monday's practice. “But whatever it takes, we’re gonna wait till he’s back healthy.”

Nance — who tore his right ACL in February 2014 at the University of Wyoming — had been enjoying a strong rookie season until his knee began to bother him. He had started 22 consecutive games before his injury, averaging 7.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 23.1 minutes, while shooting 55.6 percent from the field.

"I don't know if you can replace Larry, because he does a lot of little things that don't really show up on the stat sheet," Scott said.
