EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers announced today their invitees and schedule for the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League. The Summer League entry is expected to feature Los Angeles’ two selections from the 2014 NBA Draft: first round pick Julius Randle (7th overall) and second round pick Jordan Clarkson (46th overall). Other highlights of the squad include returning Laker Kendall Marshall, who started 45 games for the purple-and-gold last season, averaging 8.0 points and 8.8 assists per contest, and four-year NBA veteran Rodrigue Beaubois, who has played in 182 career games (54 starts) over four seasons.
The team will hold its first practice next Monday, July 7 at the Toyota Sports Center, and will officially tipoff Summer League play Friday, July 11 in Las Vegas against the Toronto Raptors at 3:00 p.m.
For the second consecutive year, the event will feature a tournament-style schedule, culminating in the crowning of the Samsung NBA Summer League 2014 Champion on Monday, July 21. Each of the participating teams will play three games apiece between July 11 and 15 before being seeded in the tournament, which tips off on July 16 and runs through the Championship Game on July 21.
