Lakers Celebrate Mentor Night with Larry Nance and Stu Lantz

In honor of National Mentoring Month, the Lakers celebrated Mentor Night at STAPLES Center on Sunday, January 15th. Pairs of mentors and mentees from Big Brothers Big Sisters were invited to watch the Lakers take on the Detroit Pistons. Founded in 1925, Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to provide youth of all beliefs and backgrounds throughout the greater Los Angeles region with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. The organization annually pairs 400 young people with one-to-one mentoring matches.

In addition to watching the game, the mentors and mentees were invited to a post-game Q&A with Larry Nance and Stu Lantz. The duo spoke about the importance of mentorship, Larry’s relationship with his father as a mentor, and the impact Larry hopes to have as a mentor himself.

The Lakers now look forward to their 3rd Annual Mentoring Road Trip, which will take four mentoring pairs from Los Angeles County on the trip of a lifetime to Washington D.C. in February.
