Lakers and Wingstop Partner for Basketball Court Renovation

On Tuesday, September 8th, the Los Angeles Lakers and Lakers Youth Foundation partnered with Wingstop to host a groundbreaking ceremony for an outdoor basketball court renovation benefitting the Challengers Boys & Girls Club of South Los Angeles. Lakers point guard, D’Angelo Russell and the Laker Girls were on hand to celebrate with the community and to partake in the Wingstop Festival where over 250 guests dined on the newest flavors of wings provided by Wingstop.

During the festival 75 kids from the Challengers Boys & Girls Club participated in a basketball clinic instructed by the Lakers Youth Foundation coaches and D’Angelo Russell. The kids worked on their defense, shooting and teamwork skills and even got some one on one time with the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The beautifully refreshed court, made possible by grants from Wingstop and Lakers Youth Foundation, will reopen to local children at the end of September. It is the latest charitable project being completed as a part of the Wingstop Flavor Tour this summer. The mission of the tour is to serve flavor and bring goodwill to communities that have embraced the Wingstop brand. In ten cities across the country, Wingstop will work with local NBA teams and charities to give back through community renewal projects and charity events.

Thank you to Wingstop’s Flavor Tour, the Lakers Youth Foundation and Challengers Boys & Girls Club for a great day of basketball, celebration and community.
