The Los Angeles Lakers partnered with Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes to host the Los Lakercitos Basketball Clinics this past summer. On September 22nd, 2012 seventy-five kids from the Heart of Los Angeles participated in this free basketball clinic to enhance their teamwork, sportsmanship and fundamental basketball skills. The lucky athletes also received a special visit from Laker Legend and Time Warner Cable SportsNet host James Worthy and Lakers point guard Darius Morris.
At the clinic, the Los Lakercitos were given instruction on defense, rebounding and sportsmanship from Daryl Roper and the Rising Stars of America basketball coaches. The Los Lakercitos also received an assortment of prizes and a Junior Lakers t-shirt. The Lakers and Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes would like to thank the Heart of Los Angeles for their assistance in organizing the Los Lakercitos basketball clinic.
