NYK 94, PHI 88: Jerian, Knicks Win Battle of Grants

The matchup lost some of its luster with No. 3 overall pick Jahlil Okafor, No. 4 overall pick Kristaps Porzingis and Sixers big man Nerlens Noel heading a long list of inactives, but New York remained focused in a 94-88 win to improve to 3-0 this preseason.

Even without the talented youngsters, the first professional matchup for the Grant brothers -- Knicks rookie Jerian (7 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds) and his younger brother Jerami (6 points, 8 rebounds) -- provided its fair share of excitement as Philadelphia remained competitive until the final buzzer.

Derrick Williams exploded for 21 points on the heels of a breakout performance on Friday in Washington, giving the Knicks free agent signee 44 points in the last two games. Carmelo Anthony stayed hot this preseason, puring in 18 points on 11 shots in 22 minutes.

Derek Fisher has been preaching pace this season, and his team responded by turning 22 Sixer turnovers into 22 fastbreak points. Between the transition game and crisp ball movement (21 assists) New York was able to compensate for shaky three-point shooting compared to its first two contests.
