NYK 98, PHI 91: Knicks Win Second Straight in Philly

How it Happened

After enduring a 16-game losing streak, the Knicks have now won two games in three nights after tonight's 98-91 victory in Philadelphia.

Derek Fisher's squad responded to Monday's win with a strong start in this one; Jose Calderon, who nailed the game-clinching 3 against New Orleans, set the tone with 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting in the first half. Carmelo Anthony started slow, but would find his stroke to finish with 27 points and 11 rebounds. His two 3s to start the 3rd quarter put New York ahead 55-42.

Led by Michael Carter-Williams (27 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals) and Jerami Grant's eight blocks, the Sixers kept the pressure on in the second half, but the Knicks hung on down the stretch. When Langston Galloway beat the shot clock with a fading 3 in the left corner to give New York a 96-89 lead with 15.2 seconds to play, the game was all but over.

Knick of the Night

After missing six of his first seven shots, Melo responded with five straight makes. He also made a few key passes (four assists) when the Sixers sent doubles teams, opening up the offense for his teammates.

Game Notes

Galloway turned in another solid performance (11 points, seven rebounds, four assists) in front of a Philadelphia crowd that watched him perform at St. Joseph's for four years.
