NEW YORK, July 13, 2014 – New York Knickerbockers President Phil Jackson announced today that the team will re-sign seven-time NBA All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony. Per team policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
"After three months of questions around Carmelo Anthony's return to the New York Knicks, we are now happy to know that we have the cornerstone of what we envision as a 'team of excellence.'" Jackson said. "Steve Mills and I have assured Carmelo through our conversations, that we share the vision and the determination to build this team.”

I look forward to working with him and building something special together.”

Anthony, 6-8, 240-pounds, holds averages of 26.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 226 games (all starts) over parts of four seasons with the orange and blue after a three-team deal brought him to the Big Apple on Feb. 22, 2011. This past season, he moved into the Top 25 of the franchise’s all-time scoring list (5,988 points) and trails only Bob McAdoo in scoring average. On Jan. 14, 2014, he authored the franchise’s greatest single-game scoring performance - and a Madison Square Garden record - with 62 points versus Charlotte. Representing the Eastern Conference at the annual NBA All-Star Game three consecutive years (2012, 13, 14), the Brooklyn-native became just the second Knickerbocker to win the NBA scoring title (2012-13, 28.7), and in addition, was named to two All-NBA Teams (2011-12, third; 2012-13, second).
