Kings Dancers Appear in Kobe’s Farewell Commercial

As Kobe’s 20-season career ends on Wednesday evening, Nike released a special commercial for No. 24’s final game titled “The Conductor”. Bryant, who has had several battles versus Sacramento in his illustrious career, named the early 2000’s Kings as one of his toughest opponents.

Throughout the commercial, critics in the arena are heard singing a tune that expresses their distaste for Kobe, with a Kings fan and several Kings Dancers chiming in to the melody.

Second-year Kings Dancer Courtney spoke with Kings.com regarding the special opportunity to record the commercial in Los Angeles – which was filmed on March 2 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“It was crazy to see how much actually goes into it – how they have only 200 extras but they make it look like the arena is full,” said Courtney.

This isn’t the first time Kings Dancers have appeared in a national TV ad, as current Kings Dancers manager and former member of the squad Jenn appeared in LeBron James’ first commercial.

“I thought it was pretty interesting. I was trying to pick their brains a little bit to see if the shoot was similar and it was.”
