Sacramento, Calif. – Today, the Sacramento Kings Foundation announced its Season of Doing Good presented by Wells Fargo schedule for December 2015. Each year, the Sacramento Kings partner with community leaders throughout the region to leverage basketball as an agent of social good. The month long blitz of special events is aligned with the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Season of Giving.

“#DoGood is much more than a motto for the Kings Foundation,” said Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “It's a belief that, together, our employees, players, fans and community can build a stronger region. This holiday season we look forward to joining our community in the giving spirit.”

Kings players DeMarcus Cousins, Ben McLemore, Marco Belinelli and Willie Cauley-Stein have donated over $140,000 in tickets towards students as education incentives, non-profits to extend their mission and several families for their first NBA experience.

Sacramento, Calif. – On November 9, the Sacramento Kings will host “Women in Sports” night presented by Angle Vineyards at Sleep Train Arena. The game marks the first time two women will serve as assistant coaches on a National Basketball Association (NBA) bench during the regular season. Throughout pregame and during game breaks, the Kings will highlight female community leaders and celebrate several accomplishments women have made in sports.

“Sacramento has a rich tradition of women working hard to improve their community. From the State Legislature to business and community leaders, we’re lucky to have strong women locally to serve as role models,” said Kings President of Business Operations Matina Kolokotronis. “Hosting leaders who have evolved and improved the way women engage in professional sports is a privilege. We’re proud we can share their accomplishments with our fans.”

The evening’s guests will meet with fans and sign autographs, as well as participate in a pregame Q&amp;A session to share personal experiences in sports, their favorite moments and take questions from the audience. In advance of Women in Sports night, the Kings will host an all-girls Kings NEXT basketball camp on November 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST at St. Francis High School. The four-hour camp for girls ages 6-16 will feature special coaching appearances from Kings Assistant Coach Nancy Lieberman and former Sacramento Monarchs players. Each participant will receive a ticket to the Women in Sports game on Monday, November 9 and take a post-game photo on the court. Registration remains open, but space is limited.

"DeMarcus followed me on Twitter this morning and that just changed my whole career," joked newest Kings assistant coach Nancy Lieberman in her nearly 22-minute conversation with Kings TV Play-By-Play and KHTK Sports 1140 Radio Host Grant Napear.

Nancy continued to tell the story of the first time she met Cousins during Summer League in Las Vegas.

"He put his arm around my shoulder and goes 'are you going to be with us the whole season?' and I said 'do you want me to be around all season? and we kind of looked at each other and he said 'that would be cool!'"

In the highly engaging conversation, Nancy also tells stories of growing up in New York and traveling to play pick-up basketball with kids at Rucker Park, getting to know Rajon Rondo and more.

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Kings have signed Chad Iske as associate head coach and John Welch, Anthony Carter, and Nancy Lieberman as assistant coaches, according to Kings Vice President of Basketball and Franchise Operations Vlade Divac. Iske, Welch, Carter and Lieberman join Corliss Williamson and Vance Walberg on George Karl’s staff.

Iske joins the Kings after the past two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He spent the previous 14 seasons with the Denver Nuggets, including the last six as an assistant coach under Karl. While with the Nuggets, Iske oversaw the scouting of upcoming opponents and assisted Karl with game plan preparation.

Welch brings years of knowledge to the Kings after two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets. Welch came to Brooklyn in 2013 in the same capacity, following eight seasons as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets under Karl. Before joining the Nuggets, Welch spent two seasons as an assistant coach/workout coach for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Prior to his arrival in Memphis, he spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Fresno State, serving under Head Coach Jerry Tarkanian. Welch joined Fresno State in 1995 and helped the Bulldogs to two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, six consecutive 20-win seasons and seven straight postseason appearances.

Carter joins the Kings after spending the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons as an assistant coach with the Austin Toros, the NBA D-League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs.

In 14 NBA seasons, Carter suited up for the Miami Heat (1999-00 - 2000-03), San Antonio Spurs (2003-04), Minnesota Timberwolves (2004-05 - 2005-06), Denver Nuggets (2006-07 - 2010-11), New York Knicks (2010-11) and the Toronto Raptors (2011-12). In 623 career games, the Hawaii alum averaged 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 19.6 minutes per game. Carter suited up in 39 playoff games, averaging 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 18.0 minutes per contest.

A member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (1996), Lieberman most recently coached the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, in 2009 and coached the team to a playoff appearance during the 2010-11 season. Lieberman was then named the team’s assistant general manager in 2011-12. 

Prior to coaching, Lieberman won an Olympic Silver Medal (1976), won back-to-back AIAW National Championships in college with Old Dominion (1979, 1980) and was named an All-American at Old Dominion (1978, 1979, 1980).
