Coolest Stadiums in the World

Sports Illustrated’s Tim Newcomb recently compiled a list of “the biggest, coolest and most crocodile-ish stadiums" we will soon see around the globe. And yes, by "crocodile-ish" he means “a façade that is shaped like a crocodile head.”

As sports and entertainment venues have grown to become some of the most connected and technologically advanced buildings in the world, they’ve also become some of the “coolest,” and Newcomb clarifies his definition of cool, stating “by cool, we mean reflective skins, giant retractable roofs and fields that slide outside."

While ESC will feature a whole host of “cool” features  —retractable glass doors that stretch five stories high, rooftop light shows, etc — Newcomb ended by simply classifying the structure as “true California style with a touch of grandeur."

Newcomb includes venues both currently being built and in the initial construction phases in Paris, Turkey, Madrid, Qatar, China, Moscow and more.
