SACRAMENTO, CALIF., Oct. 23, 2012 -- The Sacramento Kings announced today that 72 of the team’s 82 games during the 2012-13 regular season will be televised on Comcast SportsNet California (CSN California).

The Kings commitment to providing the best TV experience continues with production of Kings games by MS&E’s nine-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast team, including all telecasts produced in High Definition (HD).

“We are thrilled to continue our strong partnership with the Sacramento Kings through this 72-game telecast schedule provided in HD,” said Comcast SportsNet California Vice President and General Manager Larry Eldridge. “The Kings are an exciting young team on the rise with a passionate fan base, and we are again looking forward to providing stellar coverage to Kings fans throughout Northern and Central California.”

“Our continued partnership with Comcast SportsNet California will once again allow us to provide excellent coverage and serve the most Kings fans possible on television,” said Kings President of Business Operations Matina Kolokotronis. “The telecast of Kings games in HD by the organization’s Emmy Award-winning production team furthers our mission of providing customers with the best fan experience in the NBA.”

Popular mainstays Grant Napear and Jerry Reynolds will return to Kings TV as the play-by-play and color analyst, respectively. Napear enters his 25th season calling Kings basketball, serving as TV announcer from 1988-89 through 1993-94 and 1998-1999 to the present, in addition to three campaigns (1995-96 to 1997-98) as radio play-by-play announcer on KHTK (1140 AM). For Reynolds, the 2012-13 season marks his 27th with the franchise, a tenure distinguished by a multitude of roles. In addition to serving as the Kings Head Coach for nearly four seasons (1987-90) and his current position as the Kings Director of Player Personnel, Reynolds acted as Sacramento Monarchs General Manager for six campaigns (1998-2003).

Sacramento’s broadcast schedule begins on Halloween as the Kings tip-off their 2012-13 season in the Windy City against Chicago (coverage begins at 5 p.m. PDT).

The team returns from a three-game road trip for the “Blackout” Home Opener at Sleep Train Arena versus Golden State on Nov. 5, when the Kings will don their alternate black jerseys at home for the first time since a thrilling 106-101 victory over 2012 NBA Finalist Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 9. This year marks the team’s second-consecutive “Blackout” Home Opener, following a resounding win over the L.A. Lakers to begin the 2011-12 season.
