Kings Come Up Short in Miami

Although the Kings shot the ball extremely well (51 percent from the field and 52 percent from three), foul trouble and turnovers ultimately led to a second loss in as many days for Sacramento.

The Kings were able to cut a double-digit deficit to one, but missed opportunities in the game’s final minute to allow the Heat to pull away.

Sans DeMarcus Cousins, Sactown held Hassan Whiteside to just 14 points, but Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade combined for 47 points to lead Miami. Bosh hit several clutch baskets, and scored 13 in the game’s final frame.

  • Rajon Rondo nearly recorded another near triple-double, scoring 14, dishing out 18 assists and grabbing nine boards.
  • Rondo tied the Sacramento-era Kings record with 18 assists, shared by Jason Williams and Reggie Theus (3x).
  • Marco Belinelli led the team with a season-high 23 points, going 5-of-10 from deep.
  • Ben McLemore continued to impress, tallying 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
  • Despite leaving the game late in the third quarter with a shoulder strain, Rudy Gay had a season-high in rebounds (12).
