Today, the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors announced that they will be partnering to host an expanded dual California Classic Summer League event in both Sacramento and San Francisco. The sixth annual California Classic Summer League will feature three days of game play at Golden 1 Center presented by Ticketmaster on July 6, 7 and 9 with the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets and Chase Center on July 6, 7 and 10 with the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat. The Summer League will include a total of twelve games featuring rookies selected in the 2024 NBA Draft, sophomores and athletes competing to make NBA and G League regular season rosters.

The event will culminate in a final Northern California battle featuring the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on July 10. Similar to other Summer League matches, modified game play rules will be in place, including 10-minute quarters. In addition, the three days will include exciting family friendly entertainment.

Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, May 9, Sacramento Kings, Sacramento River Cats and Stockton Kings Season Ticket Members will have early access for multi-day passes covering all games at Golden 1 Center with the option to add discounted admission to Fourth on the Field at Sutter Health Park. General public will be able to purchase passes on Friday, May 10 at Kings.com/CAClassic for Sacramento and Warriors.com for San Francisco.

Team rosters, game matchups, entertainment, fan activations, broadcast information, and additional ticket options will be announced at later dates.

Today, in honor of May as Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, the Sacramento Kings announce ongoing efforts to celebrate and highlight the contributions, culture and achievements of the community.

"Throughout the month of May and all year, we are proud to honor the rich diversity and invaluable contributions of the AAPI community,” said Sacramento Kings Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. "At the Kings, we are committed to fostering inclusivity and amplifying the voices and stories of AAPI individuals, highlighting their resilience and accomplishments.”

This month and throughout the year, the Kings are committed to uplifting diverse voices. The Kings AAPI Employee Resource Group, which aims to provide an inclusive space for team members, fostering professional development and promoting educational, cultural, and social awareness of Asian cultures, will host a panel discussion for staff and partners to share their personal journeys and experiences with the organization. Later this month, on May 31, the Kings will support the Sacramento&nbsp;AAPI Night Market&nbsp;in collaboration with the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. This vibrant event celebrates AAPI heritage with local entrepreneurs, creators, chefs, entertainers, food, and music.&nbsp;

During the 2023-24 NBA season, the team celebrated local AAPI leaders, fashion designers and small businesses. In February, the team celebrated Lunar New Year with cultural dances, fan giveaways, and awards. The Kings and Red Hawk Resort + Casino honored Health Education Council Founder and Executive Director Debra Oto-Kent with a Community Impact Award for her efforts in addressing health disparities in low-income communities. In addition, Label K, the Kings Team Store in DOCO released a special Year of the Dragon shirt in collaboration with Hyperfly and NBALABS to commemorate the holiday.&nbsp;

In March, Label K also partnered with the local Asian American founded brand AUTHMADE to release the&nbsp;Kings x AUTHMADE Stadium collection. This exclusive line, available in Label K and online, features headwear, jackets, sweatshirts, and t-shirts.&nbsp;

Throughout the season, the Kings Pop-Up Kitchen spotlighted local AAPI staples, including Franks Fats Chinese for Lunar New Year and Cooked by Gio's Filipino food for Filipino Heritage Spotlight Night in March.&nbsp;

Sacramento Kings Celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Sacramento Kings and Red Hawk Resort + Casino to Unveil Themed $1 Slots

Today, before the team takes on the Portland Trail Blazers, the Sacramento Kings will recognize guard Malik Monk with the 2024 Community Crossover Award presented by Kaiser Permanente. The award, formerly known as the Oscar Robertson Triple Double Award, is given to a Kings player known for both on-court excellence and community contributions.

“I’m grateful for this recognition,” said Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk. “Sacramento is a community that accepted me as soon as I signed here and continues to show me a lot of love, so it’s only right to return the love. I’m blessed to be in a position where I can give back to this special community.”

Monk has shown a dedication to ensuring families are well-supported during the holidays. In November, he hosted his annual Thanksgiving meal donation in his hometown, providing turkeys and other essentials for families in need. Then, in December, Monk organized a holiday shopping spree at a local Target for single mothers and their children to provide families gifts, toys and necessities. &nbsp;

Monk has proven to be the epitome of a team player, actively engaging in Kings events within the community such as Eat Like A King, Kingpin Classic, and Season Ticket Member Parties. From serving and interacting with more than 200 underserved youth and their families to bowling and engaging with fans, Monk is dedicated to giving back to the community.

A lead contender for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Monk brings an offensive aggression, scoring prowess and agility. He leads with over 1,100 points, 370 assists, 148 made 3’s and 170 free throws made off the bench. This season Monk made franchise history as the all-time assists leader amongst Kings reserves with total of 630 assists.

Inaugurated in 2003, prior award winners include some of the most recognizable figures in Kings team history, such as Chris Webber (2003), Vlade Divac (2004), Peja Stojakovic (2005), De’Aaron Fox (2019) in addition to back-to-back honors for Corliss Williamson (2006 and 2007), Garrett Temple (2017 and 2018), Harrison Barnes (2021 and 2022) and Domantas Sabonis (2023). Tonight, as the Kings hosted the New Orleans Pelicans during their annual Tech Night, the organization announced Strived.io as the winner of the 2024 Capitalize: Technology contest, presented by Dialpad, the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development and Consolidated Communications.

“We are excited to announce Strived.io as the 2024 Capitalize: Technology winner for their efforts leveraging AI technology to better equip educators to support youth within our community,” said Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart. “This year's competition showcased exceptional and forward-thinking startups from throughout our region and we wish each of them all the best as they continue to grow their companies.”

Birth By Us is a data-driven pregnancy and postpartum app for women of color, empowering them to navigate their pregnancy journeys with personalized insights, while simultaneously providing valuable insights to healthcare providers.

Applications for Capitalize: Technology launched in January 2024 and the initial applicant pool was narrowed to a “Select 16” and then “Top 8” who participated in a workshop and coaching session. On March 27, the innovators presented their businesses to an esteemed panel of judges who then selected the “Four Finalists,” Birth By Us, Plum Identity, Strived.io and Unstructured Technologies, Inc. The four companies created pitch videos and the winner was selected as a result of judge and fan voting.

Sacramento Kings Announce 2024 Capitalize: Technology Winner

Today, as part of the 100 Years of Royalty campaign, the team announced Kings Legend Chris Webber will be returning to Sacramento this month to promote his Memoir, “By God’s Grace.”

"My time in Sacramento holds a very special place in my heart," said Sacramento Kings Legend Chris Webber. "I am excited to connect with the fans and share my story with them."&nbsp;

Fans will have multiple opportunities to connect with Webber while he is in town starting on Thursday, April 11 at a premium meet and greet experience at the Revival located in the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel. To purchase your ticket, visit Kings.com/Webber.

Webber will be in attendance at two Sacramento Kings games at Golden 1 Center, Friday, April 12 and Sunday, April 14, the team’s last home game of the regular season. Fans can purchase “By God’s Grace” in Label K, the Kings Team Store, and have the opportunity to get their book signed by Webber prior to tip-off.

On Saturday, April 13, Webber will take part in a Speaker Series at the Guild Theater where attendees will receive an autographed copy of the book with the purchase of a ticket. Later in the day, Webber will be at the Sacramento River Cats game participating in a book signing and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Books will be available for purchase at the game.

“By God’s Grace” explores Webber’s basketball journey and life lessons. One of the most talented forwards to ever don a Kings jersey, Chris Webber helped the Kings reach the NBA Playoffs in six straight seasons (1998-99 - 2003-04), earn two back-to-back Pacific Division titles (2001-02, 2002-03) and record a franchise record 61 regular season wins in 2001-02. Acquired from Washington in exchange for Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe on May 14, 1998, Webber recorded 51 points and 26 rebounds on January 5, 2001 versus Indiana, both Sacramento-era single-game records. As a King, Webber was a four-time NBA All-Star and a five-time All-NBA Team selection. He averaged 23.5 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.51 spg and 1.47 bpg in 377 games with Sacramento. His jersey was lifted to the rafters on February 6, 2009 (Kings vs. Utah).

Kings Legend Chris Webber Returns to Sacramento to Promote Memoir

Today, the Sacramento Kings announced activations to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions and influence of women during Women’s Empowerment Month. Throughout the month, the organization will elevate the stories of community leaders, recognize the accomplishments of team members, and host their annual Women’s Empowerment Night, powered by SMUD and Jamba.

“During Women's Empowerment Month, we honor the trailblazers who have shaped our past, celebrate the leaders of today, and empower the visionaries of tomorrow,” said Sacramento Kings Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. “We are committed to uplifting and inspiring women through mentorship and volunteerism, igniting the spark of potential, fostering growth, and paving the way for a more inclusive future.”

On March 6, the organization will dedicate the morning to recognizing the contributions of female Kings and River Cats team members, providing time for relaxation, meditation with&nbsp;Soul Wave Holistics and refreshments provided by Jamba.&nbsp;

During International Women's Day, on March 8, team members will volunteer at various women-led community organizations, including La Familia Counseling Center, Saint John's Program for Real Change and Women’s Empowerment to offer support for their powerful missions.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Then on March 26, as the Kings take on the Dallas Mavericks, the team will host their annual Women's Empowerment Night powered by SMUD and Jamba. Before tip-off, the Kings Women in Sports Network employee resource group will host a one-on-one discussion focused on the intersection of sports and fashion presented by Michelob Ultra with Whitney Bansin CEO, Founder and Lead Designer of The Wild Collective moderated by NBC Sports Broadcaster Morgan Ragan. The discussion, which will take place in front of an audience of Kings staff, partners, and local fashion students, will explore Basin’s inspiration to design sports apparel and journey to becoming licensed across multiple sports leagues. Following the discussion, an exclusive six-piece merchandise collection created in collaboration between The Wild Collective and the Kings Team Store, Label K, will be available for purchase.&nbsp;In-game, the Kings will present a Community Impact Award powered by SMUD to a local female leader. Sacramento Kings to Celebrate Women’s Empowerment Month

The Sacramento Kings announced today that the team has signed guard Mason Jones to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

During the 2023-24 G League regular season, Jones has averaged 13.3 points (58.1 FG%, 52.4 3pt%), 3.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 29.4 minutes per game in 12 games (12 starts) for the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. He leads the G League in 3-point field goal percentage while ranking 13th&nbsp;in assists per game.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A 6-4 guard, Jones originally went undrafted out of Arkansas in the 2020 NBA Draft. He has made 36 career appearances over two seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets (2020-21), Philadelphia 76ers (2020-21) and Los Angeles Lakers (2021-22).
