Preview: Kings (1-7) vs Pistons (5-2)

After falling short versus San Antonio on Monday, the Kings now face a Pistons squad that has looked impressive early in the regular season.

Monday marked the first game back for DeMarcus Cousins, who sat out four games due to an Achilles injury. In his return, Boogie recorded his 200th career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but struggled from the field going just 5-of-20.

Defensively, Boogie and the Kings bigs will be tasked with stopping Andre Drummond, who has been on a tear this season - averaging 19.4 points, 19.6 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.

In addition to Drummond, Detroit boasts several other threats that will make a defensive emphasis key to a victory on Wednesday night. Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are all 15-plus point per game scorers.

Meanwhile, the Kings are hoping to see the return of guards Darren Collison and Seth Curry.

  • The Kings dropped both of their matchups to the Pistons last year.
  • Omri Casspi ranks second in the NBA in three-point field goal percentage among players that have taken at least 15 attempts.
  • Marco Belinelli is coming off of two consecutive games where he's hit three treys. The former Three-Point Shootout Champion looks to be getting in sync.
