Casspi's Career Night Propels Kings Over Wolves

Without the services of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins, the Kings needed someone to step-in and help take on the scoring load.

Omri Casspi took the challenge, shooting 12-of-20 from the field and relentlessly attacking the injury-riddled Wolves backcourt for a career-high 31 points.

No. 18 also connected on 4-of-6 from downtown, while grabbing five rebounds.

“I just felt like I got in a good rhythm – wasn’t forcing shots, trying to take what the defense gave me," stated Casspi following the game.

Rudy Gay returned from injury to record his fifth 30-point game of the season (33) to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Sacramento now sits one win away from last season's total with five games to play.

  • Ray McCallum set a new career-high with nine rebounds.
  • Derrick Williams added 18 points and eight rebounds to lead the bench.
  • Nik Stauskas left the game in the third quarter with a mild back strain.
  • Sim Bhullar checked-in for the final 16 seconds of the game, becoming the first player of Indian descent to play in the NBA.
  • Former Kings guard Kevin Martin tallied 37 points and eight assists.
