Get to Know: Kings Assistant Coach Duane Ticknor

After helping the Memphis Grizzlies reach the Playoffs in three consecutive seasons, Kings head coach Dave Joerger has retained several assistant coaches who helped them get there.

One of those coaches is Duane Ticknor, who served as an assistant alongside Joerger with the Grizzlies and is now a part of his staff in Sacramento.

Following stints in the CBA (Continental Basketball Association), IBA (International Basketball Association) and the NBA D-League, Ticknor was hired by Memphis when Coach Joerger took over before the 2013-14 season.

Ticknor has seen a notable amount of success while accumulating a vast amount of coaching experience dating back to 1989. One of his recent accomplishments was serving as the head coach and leading the NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants to the first ever playoff appearance in franchise history during the 2012-13 season.

Along with lead assistant coach Elston Turner, Ticknor will continue to work with Coach Joerger in Sacramento after their time together in Memphis.
