Clippers Sign Aaron Williams

The Los Angeles Clippers today announced the signing of free agent forward Aaron Williams. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

A 12 year NBA veteran, Williams has averaged 6.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 17.5 minutes over his career. In 48 games played for Toronto and New Orleans/Oklahoma City during the 2005-06 campaign, Williams recorded 4.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 16.5 minutes per game.

The 6’9”, 235 pound forward turned in his most productive NBA season in 2001, when he garnered a career-high 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 28.5 minutes in 82 games played for the New Jersey Nets.

A graduate of Xavier (Ohio) University, Williams played a significant role in helping the New Jersey Nets to two consecutive Eastern Conference Championships in 2002 and 2003, averaging 6.5 points in each season’s playoffs as a key contributor off the bench.

Williams is reunited with Clippers Head Coach Mike Dunleavy, who coached him while both were with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 1994-95 NBA season.
