50 WINS: QUOTES FROM THE CLIPPERS

With the Clippers’ 126-101 victory over the Phoenix Suns Wednesday night, they captured their 50th win of the season. It is the first time in franchise history they’ve reached the benchmark, and while the acknowledgement of the milestone was certainly understated after the game, several members of the organization were asked about it.

Here is some of the reaction from the locker room after the historic win:

Blake Griffin

“It’s a big step for us never having been done here. But we feel like we could be much better and we feel like we could have been a 60-win team. It’s something to be proud of but the work doesn’t stop there.”

Chris Paul

“In the 43 years that the team’s been around, getting to 50 wins is something special. It’s nice to be a part of it. It’s something good for our team and for our fans. Ever since I got here, we’ve talked about setting a precedent. We expected to get to 50 wins and we expect more.”

Willie Green

“Those 50 wins represent our hard work this year. We look all the way back to China to today it’s something to celebrate. But our work is not over, so we want to continue to win more games throughout the rest of the season.”

DeAndre Jordan

“It’s a special moment for the guys on this team who helped us get this, helped with a lot of the things we’ve done this year. But we still have a lot more things on our checklist and the division is one and moving up in the playoffs is another. And the ultimate goal at the end of the season but I think as we progress and move forward all that stuff is possible.”

Vinny Del Negro

“To get number 50 in front of our fans, the first time it’s been done, is a great feeling for the organization and the team. But we’ve got much bigger things than winning 50. Hopefully, we can win the division and just keep moving forward.”
