CLIPPERS NAME SETH BURTON VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

- Team Announces Restructuring Of Communications Department -

The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that Seth Burton has been named Vice President of Communications.

Entering his eighth season with the Clippers, Burton joined the team in 2006 as the Assistant Director of Communications and served as the Director of Communications during the 2012-13 season. In his new role, Burton will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Communications Department and represent the organization as the primary media contact, among other duties.

A 1999 graduate of James Madison University, Burton brings a total of 13 years of experience in professional sports to the position.

In the Clippers restructured Communications Department, Dennis Rogers will be elevated to the position of Director of Communications and Digital Media, while Ta’Nisha Cooper and Steven Esparza will assume the titles of Assistant Director of Communications. Other personnel adjustments include the addition of Aubrey Freckman as Communications Assistant and Eric Patten being named Digital Media Manager and Communications Coordinator. Madelyn Burke remains as Producer/Host of LAC TV. All will report to Burton.

Rogers, who came to the Clippers on Dec. 3, 2012 from the New Orleans Hornets where he served as Director of Basketball Communications, is a long-time NBA veteran. The Southern Methodist University graduate will take the lead in shaping and implementing strategic changes on the Clippers website and social media platforms, while also maintaining his role of facilitating interviews and media requests for players and coaches.

In her role as Assistant Director of Communications, Cooper will be responsible for all media credentialing and seating requests, while also serving as the primary media contact pertaining to the Clippers’ Community programs, Fan Relations programs and corporate communications.

As Assistant Director of Communications, Esparza will be responsible for the production of all team publications, including the media guide, the Clippers game program “Gametime” and the team’s yearbook. In addition, Esparza will be responsible for the daily compilation of game notes and statistical information and the supervision of the game-night statistical crew as well as other special projects.
