Warriors Win Eighth Straight Home Game, Defeating Trail Blazers

Warriors Set Season-Highs in Assists (38) and Points in the Paint (62)

Klay Thompson (28 points) and Stephen Curry (27 points) combined for 55 points in the Warriors' 126-106 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Chase Center on Saturday. The Warriors have won eight consecutive home games and are undefeated at Chase Center this month. They have also beaten the Trail Blazers in all three head-to-head meetings this season.

FIXING EARLY TURNOVER DILEMMA
The Warriors committed nine turnovers in the first quarter — tied for the most they've had in a quarter this season — compared to just one for the Trail Blazers. Seven of those Warriors' turnovers came during a 21-6 Portland run, giving the Trail Blazers their largest lead of the game (11 points).

The Dubs took much better care of the ball in the second quarter, committing just two turnovers over a nearly nine-minute stretch. During that span, they outscored the Trail Blazers 24-9 to take an eight-point lead. The Warriors outscored Portland by 18 points in the second quarter and committed fewer turnovers than the Trail Blazers in the frame (5-4). After trailing by as many as 11 points in the first quarter, they entered halftime with an 11-point lead.

Klay Thompson (13 points) and Stephen Curry (nine points) began the third quarter by scoring the Warriors' first 22 points. They combined to shoot 9-for-13 from the field over that span, with Thompson hitting all three of their 3-pointers. The streak ended after eight minutes, with Moses Moody subbing in for Thompson and hitting a mid-range jumper.

PODZIEMSKI'S ALL-AROUND PRODUCTION
Brandin Podziemski flirted with a triple-double on Saturday, tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Podziemski has grabbed at least five rebounds in 11 straight games, the longest streak by a Warriors rookie since center Marc Jackson, who had 12 consecutive games during the 2000-01 season. Podziemski also led the game in plus-minus at plus-25.

PAUL'S 10TH GAME WITH 10+ ASSISTS
Chris Paul dished out 11 assists on Saturday, marking his third consecutive game with double-digit assists — he has dished out 33 assists with just two turnovers over that stretch. Paul is one of six players with at least 10 games with 10 or more assists and the only player in that group with multiple games coming off the bench. Heading into Saturday's game, Paul ranked seventh in assists, averaging a team-high 7.7 assists per game. On Saturday, his playmaking set the tone as the Warriors set a season-high with 38 assists.

After a perfect 3-0 homestand, the Warriors will visit the Nuggets in Denver on Christmas Day before returning to Chase Center for a seven-game homestand, beginning against the Miami Heat on Thursday.
