Philadelphia 76ers Sign Jeff Dowtin Jr. to Standard NBA Contract

PHILADELPHIA – APRIL 4, 2024 - Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Jeff Dowtin Jr. to a standard NBA contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dowtin Jr. originally signed a two-way contract with Philadelphia on March 2. Since then, he has appeared in seven games with the 76ers, averaging 4.4 points on 50-percent shooting from three-point range, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 12.3 minutes of action.

In the midst of his third professional season, Dowtin Jr. recently scored a career-high 12 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3FG) versus Phoenix on March 20. He also recorded a career-high six assists and tied a career-best with three steals against Memphis on March 6.

Dowtin Jr. suited up for the 76ers’ G League affiliate, Delaware Blue Coats, in 20 regular-season games, averaging 19.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.2 steals. He was one of just 10 G League players with such averages in the regular season.

Most recently, Dowtin Jr. scored a G League career-best 41 points (14-21 FG, 4-8 3FG) on Thursday against the Maine Celtics. He added seven rebounds, eight assists, four steals, and two blocked shots in the second round of the G League playoffs.

This performance marked his 13th 20-plus point contest in his 22 games with the Blue Coats (regular season and playoffs).

Overall, Dowtin Jr. holds NBA averages of 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 11.0 minutes per game across 41 contests with Orlando, Milwaukee, Golden State, Toronto, and Philadelphia. Dowtin Jr. originally signed with the G League’s Lakeland Magic following the 2020 NBA Draft, helping the team to the 2021 NBA G League title. He made his NBA debut the ensuing season with Golden State on Nov. 3, 2021.
