Wizards Pre-Draft Workouts: July 13

The following five players will participate in a pre-draft workout with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, July 13 at MedStar Wizards Performance Center:

Mitchell Ballock – G – Creighton

Started all 31 games of his senior season averaging 9.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while shooting .386 from three-point range (76-197)... Made a three-pointer in 58 of 61 games dating back to Creighton’s second game of last season (2019-20)...Scored season-high 29 points at Seton Hall, including a go-ahead three-pointer with 37.8 seconds left (Jan. 27)... His 308 three-pointers rank eighth-most among active players nationally and his 130 games were 18th-most among active players…Won the BIG EAST’s Sportsmanship Award, a recognition voted on by league coaches for his on and off-the-court contributions his senior season…Is one of two players in Creighton history with multiple games of 8+ three-pointers along with Kyle Korver…In Creighton’s BIG EAST Tournament records, ranks second in minutes played (163), first in three-pointers attempted (30) and first in games started (5).

D.J. Carton – G – Marquette

Played one season with the Golden Eagles after transferring from Ohio State... He concluded the 2020-21 campaign averaging 13.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in an average of 31.1 minutes per night...Started 24-of-27 outings...Scored a season-best 23 points against DePaul (Jan. 23) on 7-of-13 shooting...Scored in double figures 20 times and scored 20+ points on three occasions...Was named a Preseason Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST…Was named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice (Jan. 18, 2021 and March 6, 2021)...His 93 assists during the 2020-21 season ranked 7th in the Big East…Reached double figures in scoring on 13 occasions during the 2019-20 season (Ohio State) and was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Dec. 23…A consensus top-35 recruit as a senior in high school.

Matt Coleman III – G – Texas

In his senior season (2020-21), Coleman led the team in assists (4.0 apg), steals (32) and minutes (34.4 mpg) and ranked second in scoring (13.2 ppg)…Played and started 128 of a possible 129 career games and reached double figures in scoring 76 times and topped the 20-point mark 12 times…Completed his UT career ranked third in school history in career games started (128), fourth in career assists (477), seventh in career assist-to-turnover ratio (1.73, 477-275) and 16th in career scoring (1,448 points)…Became the first player in UT program history to lead the team in assists four consecutive seasons...Earned four All-Big 12 selections during his career, including third-team accolades as a junior and senior and honorable mention recognition as a freshman and sophomore…Was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree…Earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

Ryan Daly – G – St. Joseph’s

Appeared in and started 10 games for the Hawks… Led SJU and the Big 5 in scoring (18.5 ppg)…Scored in double figures in nine contests… Had a season-best 30 points in overtime win against La Salle and versus Drexel…Missed 10 games due to injury…Was named Big 5 Player of the Week four times during the 2019-20 season… Led both the Big 5 and Atlantic 10 in scoring during the 2019-20 season, and finished 21st nationally at 20.6 points per game…2021 SEC Tournament All-Tournament Team…The fourth Hawk since 1947 to average 20 points a game for his SJU career (20.1 ppg)…2020-21 All-Big 5 First Team…2020-21 Big 5 Leading Scorer Award…At Delaware Led the Blue Hens in scoring both seasons, while also earned All-CAA Third Team honors in back-to-back years…Grandfather, Jim Boyle, played at Saint Joseph’s and was the Hawks’ head coach (81-90).

Mark Vital – G/F – Baylor

Appeared and started in all 30 games as a fifth-year senior… Averaged 5.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game and his final season at Baylor… Scored in double-figures on two occasions… Recorded a season-high 19 points on 1/23/21 at Oklahoma St…Reached double-figure rebounds seven times…Scored in double-figures 27 times and grabbed double-digit rebounds 19 times during BU career, including three double-doubles…Was unanimously named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team for the second-straight season (2020, 2021) and is a three-time Big 12 All-Defensive Team Selection…One of four finalists for 2020 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year…Has the most Big 12 wins in program history (45)…Three-time All-Big 12 honoree.
