Etan Thomas Honored
Congratulations to Etan Thomas (2001-2009) for being inducted in to the “Hornets Ring of Honor” at his alma mater, Booker T. Washington High School!
There’s a long history of NBA players moving over to the broadcast table, including legends such as Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, and Rick Barry. Going into sports broadcasting is a great way for players to stay connected to the NBA, so the NBPA developed “Sportscaster U,” which allows players to learn and enhance skills required for broadcasting. Rich Rinaldi (1971-1974) oversaw this program from its inception until he retired from the NBPA in 2017. Caron Butler (2005-2010) and Drew Gooden (2013-2016) have previously enrolled in Sportscaster U, taught at Syracuse University. While the program was not offered last summer, the NBPA is expected to revive the program this summer.
