The Harlem Globetrotters married exceptional basketball skill, comedy, and storytelling to become world-renowned athletes and ambassadors of basketball. Founded in 1927, the Globetrotters were instrumental in demonstrating that Black players possessed the skills to play at the professional level and the first black player to sign an NBA contract, Nathaniel Sweetwater Clifton, hailed from their roster. In the 94 years since, the Globetrotters have broken countless barriers, set world records and entertained hundreds of millions of fans around the world.
