The 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors today announced celebrations for Women’s Empowerment Month, presented by Rakuten, aimed to recognize, support, and inspire equity for women in business and sports. To tip-off Women’s Empowerment Month, the Warriors released content of guard Jordan Poole interviewing the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, on topics including empowering women, the importance of community and mentorship, and more.

The Warriors and Rakuten will celebrate Women’s Empowerment Month during the team’s first home game of the month, tomorrow, March 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers, through a variety of activations including a full-building Women’s Empowerment Shirt giveaway. In addition, the Warriors will collaborate with a group of women who are established TikTok creators to develop new, custom food items at three of Chase Center’s women-owned Taste Maker eateries. The creations will be made available to fans throughout March. Additional Women’s Empowerment Month activations include:
- March 1 and 21: Home Court Assist, presented by Chase – Throughout the month of March, the Warriors will host two Home Court Assist meal delivery events focused on supporting women-owned restaurants who are Chase for Business customers by delivering over 2,000 fresh meals to the Bay Area community.
- March 8: Warriors Basketball Academy International Women’s Day Event – Warriors Basketball Academy, powered by Rakuten, will host 60 Bay Area women for a clinic and open gym event.
- March 9: Small Business Rebound, presented by Chase – In an effort to support local Chase for Business customers, the Warriors and Chase will host a watch party at The Brit Sports Pub & Patio in San Jose as the team visits the Memphis Grizzlies.
- March 13, 20 and 27: Warriors Basketball Academy Community Clinic Chicas Series, presented by NBC Bay Area, Telemundo 48 & NBC Sports Bay Area – Warriors Basketball Academy, powered by Rakuten, will host weekly clinics for middle school Latina girls from Homies Empowerment at the team’s Oakland facility. The students will also be invited to attend the Warriors vs. Spurs game on March 31.
- March 18 and 25: Oakland Athletic League Scholarships – In conjunction with Oakland Athletic League Final Four and Championship games being held at Warriors Basketball Facility in Oakland, Rakuten will surprise 20 middle school girls with scholarships to Warriors Basketball Academy, powered by Rakuten.
- March 23 and 26: Rakuten Future Leaders Experience – As part of the fifth-annual Rakuten Future Leaders Experience, young girls from Girls Inc. will be paired with women mentors from the Warriors and Rakuten. The two-day event will include a panel discussion, a shopping spree, networking opportunities, and game-day shadowing during the Warriors vs. Timberwolves game.
- March 25: Thompson Family Foundation All-Girls Clinic – The Thompson Family Foundation will host an all-girls clinic for 60 Bay Area youth at the Warriors Basketball Facility in Oakland.
- March 27: Rakuten Rewarding Days – Select Warriors players will invite women community leaders for a shopping spree and event courtesy of Rakuten at Warriors Shop at Thrive City.
