The Golden State Warriors have announced promotions and additions within the team’s basketball operations department ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

On Head Coach Steve Kerr’s coaching staff, Kris Weems has been promoted to Assistant Coach after spending the previous two seasons as Player Development Coach. Previously, Weems spent four seasons with the team’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, including two seasons as head coach (2019-21). He began his career with the Warriors as a player development coach and scout from 2011-14.

On the player development staff, Seth Cooper and David Fatoki will both have the new title of Director, Player Development. In his new role, Fatoki will continue to oversee basketball operations in Santa Cruz. Additionally, Golden State has promoted Klint Carlson to Player Development Coach and Video Coordinator and hired Everett Dayton as Video Coordinator, Player Development.

In addition to Mike Dunleavy Jr., who was promoted to General Manager on June 16, the Warriors have made the following promotions in the front office: Kent Lacob to Vice President, Basketball Development; Onsi Saleh to Vice President, Basketball Strategy and Team Counsel; Pabail Sidhu to Vice President, Basketball Analytics and Innovation; Nanea McGuigan to Senior Director, Basketball Administration and Player Programs; and Ryan Atkinson to Senior Director, Basketball Development. A Bay Area native, Hayes was born in San Leandro and attended Modesto Christian High School.

In Santa Cruz, Nicholas Kerr has been named Head Coach. Kerr spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach with the team’s G League affiliate after three years with Golden State in video and player development. Prior to Golden State, Kerr worked for the San Antonio Spurs as a quality assurance assistant. The remainder of the Santa Cruz coaching staff will be announced at a later date.
