The Warriors announced their five-game preseason slate to tip off the 2022-23 season, beginning with two matchups in Japan before returning home to host three teams for the the remaining three games of the preseason schedule.
Along with the debut of the 2022-23 Dubs squad and the first sight of Warriors basketball in 75 days, here are five things to anticipate looking ahead to the 2022 preseason.
- The NBA Japan Games 2022, presented by Rakuten, mark both the Warriors and Wizards first-ever game(s) in Japan.
- The preseason opener on Sept. 30 will be the first time the Warriors take the court since becoming 2022 NBA Champions.
- Japan is the sixth country outside of the United States to host a Warriors game, with the team previously playing a total of eight games across Canada, China, France, Mexico and Spain.
- The first 10,000 fans in attendance at the Warriors-Trail Blazers game on October 11 will receive a mystery Stephen Curry bobblehead from the 2021-22 championship season.
- The Warriors face off against back-to-back NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the preseason finale on October 14 at Chase Center, marking the first meeting between the two clubs since the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
